Ffestiniog Holiday Cottages provide superb accommodation, our cottages are finished to a high standard and are well appointed and equipped providing the ultimate cosy holiday retreat and base for exploring this beautiful area and countryside.

Our cottages are situated in the Vale of Ffestiniog, in the Heart of the Snowdonia National Park, and each offer very different accommodation.

Hen Aelwyd yr Urdd - Set in the popular village of Llan Ffestiniog in the magnificent Snowdonia National Park, this pretty Welsh cottage dates back over a hundred years, and is the perfect cosy retreat for couples seeking a romantic getaway. Offering compact and comfortable accommodation, the cottage boasts a splendid inglenook fireplace complete with fantastic multi fuel stove, exposed beams, and upstairs, a spacious and inviting double bedroom and a modern shower room. Village facilities are all within walking distance and the thriving town of Blaenau Ffestiniog is only 3 miles away. There are a wealth of activities available to the visitor in the surrounding area with great walking and climbing, fascinating caverns to explore and the beautiful North Wales coastline less than half an hour’s drive away. A character cottage that is sure to delight at any time of the year. An ideal holiday base.

Glan yr Afon Cottage - A delightful, 18th century, stone built miners cottage in the village of Tanygrisiau with views of the Manod mountains and a back drop of the Moelwyn mountains, in the village of Tanygrisiau, Nr. Blaenau Ffestiniog. Successfully renovated and retaining much original character, Glan yr Afon cottage boasts a welcoming sitting room with an impressive stone Inglenook fireplace with warming multi-fuel stove, creating a cosy relaxing atmosphere. Surrounded by wonderful mountains, Glan yr Afon cottage is perfect for lovely scenic walks and mountain biking, or enjoying outdoor pursuits such as canoeing and climbing at Plas y Brenin National Mountain Centre, bike trails at Coed-y-Brenin, one of the best mountain bike centres in Britain, discovering the magnificent slate caverns at Blaenau Ffestiniog, or visiting bustling Porthmadog with its individual shops, inviting eateries and colourful marina. With the enormous beach at Black Rock Sands, the picturesque National Trust Bodnant Gardens and the majesty of Mount Snowdon all within easy reach, Glan yr Afon cottage is the perfect, all year round holiday retreat.

Bwthyn Afon - A charming 18th century miner’s holiday cottage.  Set in a quiet location overlooking fields and nearby river & only a few minutes walk away from the Ffestiniog Steam Train railway station in Tanygrisiau.  Bwthyn Afon, meaning River Cottage has recently undergone extensive renovation whilst retaining original character features such as the impressive inglenook fireplace with a multi fuel stove set on a raised slate hearth, and exposed beams in the lounge area, and reproduction paneling to the open staircase. The kitchen area is well equipped and modern in styling with spotlighting, whilst retaining a country cottage look and feel to it. Situated amongst some dramatic scenery in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, the cottage exudes a warm friendly welcome and is ideally situated for exploring the area and attractions that Snowdonia has to offer. There are some fantastic walks, lakes & waterfalls from the cottage, and the area is great for fishing, golfing & mountain biking. The slate mining town of Blaenau Ffestiniog is only 1.5 miles away and offers an array of eating establishments, pubs, shops, chemist, petrol station/garage & leisure centre/swimming pool. Blaenau Ffestiniog is also the home of the World Famous Ffestiniog Narrow gauge Steam railway which links to the harbour town of Porthmadog.

Our cottages welcome dogs (max' 2 well behaved dogs). Starter pack of fuel for multi fuel stoves included in rent, all electricity, linen and towels included in rent. Complimentary bottle of wine & welcome gift on arrival.
